Ten Haiku (times two) on Toe, Tow, Hinky ©

What good is a toe

Like so much else in our lives

It’s beauty and beast

Nothing can compare

To the comfort you will feel

Of a foot massage

Also what hurts more

And forever it seems than

Stubbing your big toe

A ballerina

On pointe is just exquisite

For us; not for her

After a long hike

Dipping your toes in water

Rejuvenates you

Your toes not only

Balance body and spirit

They drive you forward

Toes are important

But they are not life itself

They aide but don’t rule

Without your toes you

May feel hinky but you’re not

Find another path

You many think that you

Are no longer beautiful

But that’s just not true

Lost toes are just that

Nothing more just like many

Other challenges

When faced with any

Mobility or speaking

Issues find new paths

Recognize affirm

Talents and contributions

There’s an abundance

This is why it’s said

That you’re differently abled

Valued to us all

Act with genuine

Concern for others share your

Willingness to shine

Others will be less

Prone to marginalize you

If you value them

Be willing to share

Offer a helping hand to

Those who have a need

Be an ally and

Others will be an ally

Reciprocally

Stand up advocate

Carry your fellow humans

If that’s what’s needed

Don’t let the chance pass

To save a life when needed

Take the right measure

Carry them speak for

Them tow them along in your

Arms and your spirit
